July 20, 2010 – Pictures from the Orange vs. Branford District 4 Championship Game 7 where Orange defeated Branford, 5-0. The game was continued earlier this morning for the District 4 11-12 Championship title. Game time was postponed from last night’s rainout to 11:00 am this morning.

In the bottom of the second inning, Mike Appel of Orange hit a grand slam, making the score 5-0. Ahern was Orange’s pitcher. Whilst the game was happening, viewers could see thunder and lightning on the horizon and storms forced the game to be postponed until 11:00 am the next day. The umpires called the game in the bottom of the 4th inning with a runner on first, 2 outs, and a 0-1 count.

The following day, Mike Appel pitched for Orange. He struck out Branford’s batter, ending the 4th inning. The rest of the game was finished in under 45 minutes. Orange left two runners on base and Branford left one on base.
